The Region of Crete (APPLICANT ORGANISATION) is a second-grade local self-government authority of Greece and offers services for the benefit of the citizens. It is a Public Law Entity. It is organized and operated according to the Greek Law 3852/10 (FEK 87/07-06-2010) “Kallikratis Program”. It consists of 6 General Directorates and 36 Directorates that aim at Economic, Social and Cultural Development of the Island of Crete. It designs, plans and implements policies at the regional level as part of its responsibility in accordance with the principles of sustainable development and social cohesion of the country, taking into account national and European policies. The Region of Crete aims at deepening local and regional democracy, while further unleashing and making appropriate use of our region’s strengths and potential. Its intention is to continuously improve services provided to the citizens, promote transparency and accountability, and at the same time, successfully negotiate with the central government for funds for the benefit of our local societies.

ECTE – European Center in Training for Employment is certified by the Ministry of Education as Educational Center for Continuous Education, as well as guidance for employment center. The educational programs that ECTE develops and implements are targeting in the adaptation of the working force to the transformations of the technological, socio-economic and physical environment, the promotion of regional development, the improvement of the existing and the acquisition of new qualifications, and the exchange of experience and know-how in national and international level.

The main activity areas are the planning and elaboration of projects for the development of human resources, which integrate innovation and European dimension, are based on dynamic partnerships and pursue synergy and quality in results. The activity sectors are:

  • Implementation of training programmes.
  • Training material – training modules development.
  • Elaboration of researches and studies (training need analysis, market researches) related to the needs of the labour market
  • Planning and development of international European projects related with the local development, employment and social cohesion.

The University of Valladolid (UVa), one of the oldest European Universities, has been taking part in a very active way in different European projects, at research or training level, during the last 20 years. There is a long experience in international projects developed by different groups of research in the
University and different fields of knowledge. Today it is one of the leading centres of Higher Education in Spain, offering over 100 degrees, 17 post-graduate programmes and 50 masters. The University of Valladolid counts with more than 20.000 students, 2.500 professors and researchers and 900 staff members. The University of Valladolid is boasting a broad network of international relations, research centres, together with wideranging sports and cultural facilities and a rich architectural and documentary heritage. All of this combines to provide an outstanding academic environment, equal to the oldest universities in Europe in terms of history, excellence and quality of research.

The Machiavelli Centre, founded in 1978, was accredited as a consultancy and training organization by the Region of Tuscany in 2008 and obtained the ISO9001 and ISO29990 quality certifications. The Centre operates within EU programmes and in training activities. In the last 10 years realised several multilateral and mobility projects (both as coordinator and partner) within EU Programmes like Lifelong Learning and Erasmus+ with partners from AT, BE, BG, FR, DE, GR, ES, IE, NL, NO, PL, PT, RO, SE, SK, TR, UK.

The Centre has two departments corresponding to its two main fields of activity: Language School for Foreigners and Training Agency. The latter, involved in this project, has been set up with the following aims:

  • Promote training paths and models of professional development, functional to local needs
  • Foster methodological and technological innovation in training, through the creation and testing of innovative projects
  • Promote collaboration and integration among different subjects involved in high-quality education
  • Promote the training of trainers, teachers, and educators in general

LDI is a private educational institute, located in Berlin. It concentrates on European educational projects and activities in the areas of vocational training and education, adult education and labor. It aims are to initiate European exchange within these fields, to integrate into educational processes gender & diversity as concepts for more equal chances and acknowledgment, and to bring innovative approaches with European dimensions into education and labor.

Services include the arrangement of work-based training and observatory technical visits in Europe and in Berlin. LDI offers to counsel to vocational schools, colleges, universities and enterprises, who are interested in offering their trainees, apprentices or employees a work-related exchange abroad in
order to deepen their professional knowledge and skills. It also offers services for evaluation and assessments of training programs, educational projects, and events. It is specializing in business start-ups and experienced in the development of teaching-learning methodologies and it is mastering Design Thinking is for teams and individuals who want to learn a proven, systematic approach to new product development.

SQLearn specialises in the provision of integrated e-learning solutions and m-learning application and training. It addresses enterprises, public authorities & educational institutions offering them custom & generic e-learning solutions.

SQLearn uses best of breed technology & work with open source SW thus, ensuring our clients the best possible results along with an immediate return on investment. Our objective is for e-learning and m-learning to be part of the culture of each enterprise and educational institution. SQLearn is ISO accredited for the design of e-learning material as well as development & have elaborated services such as: conducting training needs analysis, design specific learning plans, design & develop e-learning content/LMS, e-training and production of seminars. Moreover, the research areas of SQLearn involve pedagogies in learning, training, delivery methods and platforms.

The Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania (CIHEAM/MAICh) is a constituent Institute of the International Centre of Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies (CIHEAM). CIHEAM is an Intergovernmental Organization comprised of four Institutes (MAI) located in Bari-Italy, Chania-Greece, Montpellier-France, and Zaragosa-Spain, that contribute to establishing a Mediterranean agricultural research area.

CIHEAM/MAICh focuses on the provision of postgraduate education and the implementation of high standard research at regional, national and European level in the fields of Business Economics; Food Quality; Geoinformation in Environmental Management; Horticultural Genetics and Biotechnology; and Sustainable Agriculture. The Institute maintains close links with academics and prestigious higher education and research Institutes. It has successfully participated in or/and coordinated numerous EU and national competitively funded programs, and has organized EU and International seminars.

CIHEAM MAICh contributes in the task of establishing a Mediterranean agricultural research area through its involvement in numerous scientific research programmes (particularly under the European Union’s Framework Programmes) in close collaboration with national partners in the North and South Mediterranean.
